About us

Skye & Lochalsh Ski Club was set up to bring together people with an interest in skiing, from complete beginners to those with experience.
We organise trips in Scotland and abroad.

We try to keep the cost of skiing down to a minimum by getting group discounts and by renting out skis, boots and helmets at a low cost. We have a stock of skis and boots of all sizes, especially for children. We have some ski clothing to lend out to children, so they can try the sport without their parents spending large sums to kit them out.

We also have a small number of cross country skis and boots to hire out, and a snowboard and boots.

As a club we are eligible for Sport's Council grants which in the past have been used to train individuals to teach others to ski, to buy equipment so that members can service their own ski's and to support members of the club who are trying to compete in international skiing or boarding events.

We run ski fit sessions over the winter.

We carry out a small amount of fund raising to enable us to pay deposits on trips and buy equipment.

This season 2012/2013 four members have been trained to fit & maintain boots & skis to a professional standard.
There will be fundraising events to help pay for this.
